OUR PROPOSAL FOR ECOLOGICAL PACKAGING
PCR PLASTICS – POST-CONSUMER RECYCLED PLASTICS
In addition to the reuse of “pre-consumer” waste in production, it is also possible to use plastics from post-consumer recycling, i.e. deriving from the separate collection of bottles and packaging after their use. These are so-called “post-consumer recycled” (PCR) plastics.
These guarantee the same physical-mechanical and processability characteristics of traditional plastics derived from synthetic sources, while combining them with alow environmental impact. For this reason, all the bottles, tubes and accessories produced by Vetronaviglio are also available inpost-consumer recycled plasticswhich present excellent chemical properties and can be customized in various colours.
Our Green materials
PE & PP FROM POST-CONSUMER RECYCLING
Vetronaviglio also produces bottles and tubes in PE-PCR, polyethylene coming from separate waste collection, and jars and accessories (dispensers, capsules, droppers, lids, etc.) in PP-PCR, both coming from separate waste collection, thus reducing the amount of virgin plastic put into the ‘environment. The bottles are produced using 100% PE-PCR, the bottles 95% PE-PCR. Food Contact Compliance not available.
R-PET (POST-CONSUMER RECYCLED PET)
PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles can also be made from R-PET. The latter is PET recycled after its use, and is almost indistinguishable from virgin plastic, from which it differs only by a slight difference in color. R-PET is available in recycled percentages of 30%, 50%, 70%, 100%. Food Contact Compliance available.
PE & PP FOR PLANT ORIGIN
BIO-BASED PE (polyethylene of plant origin) and PP (polypropylene of plant origin) are not obtained from petroleum, but from the fermentation of plant materials such as sugar cane, grown by absorbing CO2 from the air. In doing so, the production of plant-based plastics can help reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. Food Contact Compliance available.
PCR GLASS (POST-CONSUMER RECYCLED GLASS)
Continuously seeking improvement in the field of environmental sustainability, Vetronaviglio also offers post-consumer recycled (PCR) glass packaging. In this way it actively contributes to reducing CO2 emissions, the consumption of raw materials and energy resources, giving rise to glass products at the end of their useful life which are thus recovered and remelted into new artefacts. Food Contact Compliance available.
WHAT ARE THE MAJOR ADVANTAGES?
Unlike traditional plastics, they contribute to reducing the environmental impact of products because:
ASSESS THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF A PRODUCT AND MEASURE THE BENEFITS OF “ECO” PLASTICS
Vetronaviglio has decided to adopt the use of these plastics within the manufacturing process of its products, with the aim of contributing to the enhancement of environmental sustainability and consolidating eco-design . Since it is necessary to pay attention to the consequences that production generates on the environment, the Company is working to obtain the ISO 14001certification, which certifies compliance with the reference standard, by establishing a company management system aimed at reducing the impact of its products on the environment in which it operates.
PLASTICS WITH LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Environment and sustainability. This combination encompasses and summarizes one of the major challenges of our era and increasingly captures the attention of all those companies that include among their main objectives the safeguarding of the balance between environmental protection and economic development, aiming in the search for greater efficiency and responsibility in the use of resources.
Constant attention to sustainability is, therefore, more than a factor of fundamental importance within the process of reducing the environmental impact of a product, a real necessity for safeguarding the future.
A further opportunity for environmental protection is regulated by the national standard UNI 10667, which offers the opportunity to reuse within the same production process as “pre-consumption” residues. These are defined as materials generated by the fine-tuning of the process, imperfect products, sprues, scraps and cuts, waste for non-compliant products.
